Privacy Policy

KeywordMagic(“we”, “us”) operates the keyword research tool available at keywordmagic.io. This page explains what data we collect, why, and what your choices are.

• Account info. Your email address and basic profile fields are managed by our authentication provider (Clerk). We do not see or store your password.
• Search activity. The keywords you research, the country/language you target, and the timestamps of your searches. This is the data the product is built around.
• Bookmarks & notes. Anything you choose to save, including your free-text notes on bookmarked keywords.
• Usage counters. A monthly per-user counter of metered actions (searches, live SERP fetches, AI brief generations) used to enforce plan limits.
• Billing info. If you subscribe to Pro, payment details are collected and stored by Stripe via Clerk Billing — we never see your card numbers.
• Cookies. A session cookie from Clerk for login, plus two preference cookies (kw_country, kw_language) that remember your last country/language pick. No third-party tracking cookies.
• Server logs & analytics. Our hosting provider records standard request metadata (IP, user agent, path, timestamps) for security and reliability. We use Vercel Analytics for aggregated, anonymized page-view metrics in production.

• To run the product — return search results, generate content briefs, sync bookmarks across devices.
• To enforce plan limits and bill you correctly.
• To debug errors and prevent abuse.
• To send transactional email (account, billing) when necessary.

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not train third-party AI models on your search history.

The service depends on a small number of subprocessors who receive only the data they need to do their job:

• Authentication — Clerk (email, profile, session).
• Payments — Stripe via Clerk Billing (cardholder name, billing address; card numbers go to Stripe directly).
• Keyword data — we send the keyword text and country code to a Google Ads-backed data provider on each search. We do not send your account email or identifier with these requests.
• AI features — when you generate an AI content brief or keyword suggestion, the relevant text (your seed keyword and the SERP titles/descriptions) is sent to OpenRouter and the upstream model provider it routes to. We never attach your account email to these requests.

Search history, bookmarks, and notes are kept for as long as your account exists. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Billing records are kept as required by tax law (typically 7 years).

You can access and delete most of your data directly from the app: the bookmarks page lets you remove individual bookmarks, and history can be cleared by deleting the underlying queries. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at [email protected] and we’ll process it within 7 days.

If you’re in the EU/UK, you have the additional rights granted by GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection). Email the same address.

The service is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

We may update this policy when we add features or change providers. Material changes are announced in-app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
